THE E2DT SERIES
E2DT is the International Conference on Energy, Environment & Digital Transition, a conference series devoted to the key challenges and opportunities related to the transition towards net-zero carbon emissions and fully renewable energy systems.
The conference aims to bring together researchers, engineers, executives, and representatives of institutions to discuss the energy and environmental transition, driven by the recognition that global CO2 emissions must be drastically reduced to keep global warming below the 1.5 °C target.
The objective of E2DT is to provide up-to-date evidence on the positive and negative environmental effects of the energy transition, as well as on the role of new technologies in driving and accelerating this transformation.
The conference focuses on energy systems, greenhouse gas emissions, climate and human-related risks, environmental impacts, and the opportunities offered by digitalization to support a faster, more efficient, and sustainable transition.
Energy and environmental evolution will be enabled by policy frameworks and market instruments and accelerated by digital technologies. Digitalization is making energy systems more connected, intelligent, efficient, reliable, and sustainable, while also transforming markets, businesses, and employment models.
Previous editions of E2DT were held as follows:
| Edition | Year | Venue | Dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 2022 | Milan, Italy | 23-26 October |
| 2 | 2023 | Palermo, Italy | 22-25 October |
| 3 | 2025 | Palermo, Italy | 12-15 October |
E2DT provides an international forum for discussing the scientific, technological, environmental, economic, and policy dimensions of the energy and digital transition.
