Shaping the future of European Chemical Reaction Engineering

The workshop aims to highlight the pivotal role of Chemical Reaction Engineering (CRE) in achieving the objectives of the European Green Deal and supporting the transition toward a climate-neutral circular economy.
The discussion will focus on the key drivers shaping the future of the field, including the use of sustainable and non-fossil feedstocks, process intensification, safe and sustainable-by-design approaches, green engineering principles, innovative catalysts and reactor technologies, and the growing adoption of AI and digital twins as emerging tools for process optimization.
The workshop seeks to foster a constructive dialogue, stimulate new perspectives and address open issues related to the integration of sustainability, process innovation, and digital technologies.
These interconnected dimensions are crucial for maintaining Europe's leadership in Chemical Reaction Engineering and for driving the transformation of the chemical industry towards a more resilient, competitive, and low-carbon future.
