ALL THE PARTICIPANTS TO THE CONFERENCE ARE INVITED TO THE

EFCE FORUM

On October 15 morning at 9:00, a parallel event organized by the European Federation of Chemical Engineering (EFCE) will be held in plenary session, with participation of the three EFCE Officers present: the President, Giorgio Veronesi, the Executive Vice President, Jarka Glassey, and the Scientific Vice President, Boelo Schuur, together with David Bogle, member of the EFCE Board and formerly President of IChemE and Scientific Vice President of EFCE.

Jarka Glassey has been elected by the EFCE General Assembly, held in Lisbon on September 6, as EFCE President for the next term 2026-2027, and Boelo Schuur has been re-elected as Scientific VP, EFCE is therefore represented at the E2DT Forum with both current and future leadership.

The format of the Forum includes a Plenary Lecture by the researcher selected by the Early Career Chemical Engineers Section of EFCE, Patrick Schuehle, Junior Research Group Leader at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universitaet Erlangen-Nuernberg, Germany, who will speak about
"Renewable C1-building blocks for a sustainable energy and chemical sector".

Picture and CV of Patrick Schuehle are reported on this site welcome page.

There will then be a round table discussion moderated by Jarka Glassey on the changing world and implications on Chemical Engineering education, on the relationships between University and Industry, in particular on how they are cooperating in addressing the modifications required by the Energy Transition and the shift to Circular Economy, the discussion will also cover the impact of such changes on our society, with focus on the major subject of ethics in engineering.

Then, there will be interactions with the public, with questions from the attendees on the topics discussed at the round table and at the conference.
