One of the most beautiful luxury villas in Italy. This estate has its origins in the 14th century and it is one of the oldest villas in Tuscany. Its wonderful altana with a panoramic view over Florence distinguishes it from the Medicean villas and most of the Chianti villas. The villa probably dates to the early 1400s. The first owners were probably the Strozzi family, followed by the Lapi, the Uguccioni, and the Cavalcanti. The direct line of this family—that of the poet Guido, Dante’s companion—died out in the 18th century but continued in the Cattani-Cavalcanti branch. The Cavalcanti family enlarged the structure of the villa by adding two side wings to the central portion, on which they raised the second story and the roof loggia that is today the symbol of Villa Castelletti. In the second half of 1800, Count Leopoldo Cattani Cavalcanti transformed the property into a model agricultural estate. The most significant related initiative was undoubtedly the foundation of the Istituto Agrario Filantropico (Philanthropic Agricultural Institute). In the late 1800s the estate became the home of the Montagliari Mayer counts, of Germanic origin.

Buses for conference dinner will leave the main entrance of the Firenze Fiera (Piazza Adua, 1) at 19:00. 
The trip takes about 50 minutes. Return to Firenze Fiera is foreseen at about 23:30. 

The dinner invitation is included in the full registration fee; people who wish to buy additional tickets are requested to book them on registration.
