Success stories in applied biotechnology have been based on discoveries in basic sciences and their exploitation using engineering and technological breakthrough. With rapid growth in all sectors of biotechnology, there is great promise for the future of industrial biotechnology in its widest interpretation.

The focus of IBIC2014 is on novel advances in the biosciences and new multidisciplinary approaches applied to bio-industry at large.

In this context, widespread topics ranging from molecular biology, genomics, systems biology, bio-nanotechnology and tissue engineering to microbial physiology, cell communication, fermentation and enzyme technology, upstream and downstream processing, scale-up, scale-down, high throughput screening and processing and, bioreactor design will be covered for applications in pharmaceutical industry and medical, food, environmental and marine biotechnology.
