Information and technology for sustainable
fruit and vegetable production, the 9th Fruit, nut and vegetable production
engineering symposium, 19-22 May, 2015 - Milano, Italy.
Our conference, missing since 2009 (FRUTIC CHILE 2009), will be held in
Milan, during the Expo
Milano 2015 and IPACK
- IMA , which present for the first time FRUIT
INNOVATION, an exhibition focused on processing, packaging, preservation,
and transportation technologies for fruit and vegetables. Frutic is also
held jointly with ICheaP12 -
12th International Conference on Chemical & Process Engineering.
The first FRUTIC symposium was held in Israel in 1983, sponsored by the
Agricultural Research Organization (ARO) at the Volcani Center, in
Bet-Dagan, Israel.
Since then it has become an important source for the development and application
of technology in the wine, fruit, and horticultural production sectors,
presenting works of high quality to meet the demands of consumers to obtain
safe, affordable produce provided by a sustainable agricultural sector
that also satisfies the needs of producers to improve profitability without
reducing quality.
In recent years the fruit and vegetable sector has been involved in important
developments, both in field and in transformation processes.
The concepts related to sustainability have requested a review of production
methods focusing greater attention on the environment and on the healthiness
of productions for consumers.
For these reasons, the conference aims to discuss the technology developments
in the field and in post-harvest. Particularly, precision farming is increasingly
able to offer effective solutions for the operative management of the
orchard, and automation and sensors applied to transformation processes
are improving the possibility to better preserve the production quality
by raising the control level, expanding the range of products (for instance
the fresh-cut fruit and vegetable), reducing waste and saving costs.
The challenges for the coming years are many: in addition to draw a defined
and updated framework on research carried out, the Congress will involve
relevant stakeholders from the area of plant engineering and production
as interrogative speakers in specific workshops.
All the international specialists are invited to see this event as an
opportunity to exchange up-to-the minute information on industrial needs,
new technology developments and research opportunities. The previous events
attracted leading Industrialists and Academics from all over the world
and provided a state of the art on Fruit, nut and vegetable Engineering.
FRUTIC ITALY 2015 is organized in Milano during EXPO2015, a universal
exposition addressed to the main strategic objectives: "Feed the
Planet and Energy for Life".
EXPO2015 will last from May to October and will attract a worldwide participation
that will provide visibility to the tradition, the creativity and innovation
in food industry and in new global food scenarios.
FRUTIC ITALY 2015 will be jointly organized on occasion of IPACK-IMA an
international fair on the technologies for food processing and packaging.
The synergic relation with IPACK-IMA will contribute to the organization
of sessions addressed to food losses control and to the definition of
new targets on high standard level of food safety.
So FRUTIC ITALY 2015, in line with EXPO2015 objectives and favouring the
IPACK-IMA themes, will call experts to provide answers and to define solutions
to those thematic subjects with proper sessions and keynote presentations.
It is therefore evident that joining FRUTIC ITALY 2015, on occasion of
EXPO2015 and IPACK-IMA, is an unique opportunity that gives to the event
participants a world wide open window and an extraordinary opportunity
to favor contacts and enlarge visibility
We are looking forward to open this world-class event and to share with
you the unique atmosphere of this event.
