Guidelines for Poster presentations

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE POSTERS WILL BE PRESENTED ELECTRONICALLY IN A PROPER TOUCH SCREEN.
YOU WILL NOT PREPARE A HARDCOPY POSTER BUT YOU WILL UPLOAD A pdf FILE INTO A PROPER WEB ADDRESS.

The deadline for uploading the pdf poster is the 16th of August 2020

File format: .pdf
File orientation: PORTRAIT 9/16 (1080x1920)
Screen 47", vertical position (58cm x 104cm), 300 Dpi
Maximum dimensions: 20 MB

GENERAL

Please be aware that your file will be read by a software that adapts the dimensions of your page to the 47" screen used.
In principle your image might be of whatever size, provided that you respect the PORTRAIT mode of 9:16 (vertical format). Different modes will be visualized as well, adapting to the screen, but will not be optimal for the users.
As a thumb rule, please note that if your .pdf is not clearly readable on your laptop screen, it will be worse on a larger screen. If you can read it clearly on your laptop screen, it will be clear on the Screen as well.

ASPECT

Although your image (47", 58cm x 104cm) is displayed on a touch screen so that it may be enlarged or reduced at yor convenience (in other words you can see details of whichever dimensions), we do suggest you to make the most relevant portions of your results, visibele and readable at a first glance on the standard size of the screen. You may use the touch screen enlargements to the details useful for a face to face discussion.

FILE SIZE

It is suggested to create file up to 20 MB: this max size makes the file clearer to readers. Larger files are still working but are slower to open.

Poster panels will be identified by the same number assigned to the poster in the Conference Guide that you will receive with your conference kit
(please do not refer to the numbers reported in the online program):
P\5 reads as: poster presentation\ panel number.

Four specific Poster Presentation Sessions and discussions are scheduled on Monday (morning and afternoon) and Tuesday (morning and afternoon)

During the Poster Presentation Sessions, authors are requested to be in attendance at their poster board to facilitate interaction and exchange.
Attendance at the poster board by the author is part of the duty of the speaker

Each e-panel will be loaded with approximately 10 e-posters. During the poster session each author attending the poster board will have few minutes (to be defined shortly) to discuss her/his poster. The number of the e-panel loading each author's poster will be communicated before the conference.
We suggest you download a qrcode redaer on your mobile device in order to easily download the poster/s you are interested in.


We are a little bit reluctant in giving too detailed instructions for preparing poster presentations, because we do not want to suppress any kind of creativity of the authors.
Nevertheless, we think that some guidelines, recommendations and advises may help some of you in preparing a poster of a higher quality.
The lay-out of the poster
The contents of the poster might be subdivided as follows:
Header -
Give title of poster, authors, affiliation, addresses (idea: put your photograph in the header)
Problem definition & objectives -
Make clear which problem you have studied and the aims of your work.Refer briefly to previous work. Give the perspectives if you really attain the set objectives.
Strategy, methods, theory
- Indicate HOW you have tried to solve the set problem: general strategy, experimental methods, theoretical aspects, ....Emphasise novel theoretical and experimental approaches.
Results
- Present your findings to justify the conclusions e.g. via tables and graphs. Do not overload tables and graphs with data.
Conclusions
- Draw conclusions about what you have learned from your work. Indicate the significance of the conclusion(s).
References
- Give maximum 4 key references to position your work.
Acknowledgements - Should be mentioned if any.
- each section in the poster should be clearly marked with a title.
- all tables and graphs should have a caption and the axes of graphs must be clearly labelled.
- avoid typescript unless substantially photographically enlarged.
- the amount of text is limited, so choose your words carefully.
- use colours for emphasis and distinction.
- in a table, try to restrict yourself to 4 columns with not more than four listings per column
-graphs should show a maximum of 3 curves
